Never thought Id be asking this sort of question but here it is.
I started remodeling my shop before I left overseas. I am returning soon to finish it and I want to buy and use a CMS for a stationary cross cut station. (I am getting tired of using a sled on the TS :>D )
Im going to pick up a couple of the Beismeyer miter saw fences and Im thinking of getting the Makita or Bosch CMS.
Does that sound about right ?
I primarily build cabinetry and do finish work.
What do yas recommend?
I was looking the Fesstool but Ouchhh that price is killing me unless its really worth the cost.
Thanks for the job you did over there. As for what to buy, just go with what your pocket can bear at this time. There will be time to upgrade at some point in the future.
I've used many slide compounds and my favorite is the Makita LS1013. There are a couple options with that saw. With fluorescent light, laser or both. I have the light and although I don't use it often its nice when you need it. Saw runs around 500 bucks, shop around. I believe there is a new version of this saw which boasts a larger cutting capacity with a 10" blade.
It's a fantastic saw, dead accurate and well made. I'm on my second one, the first I abused really bad out in the field and it was still going strong when I retired it. My second one is 4 years old. You won't regret buying this saw.
Well then thanks for the job your doing . Hope your Christmas was good even if you were away from the family.
It was nice as can be, At least this year I got to video chat with them and see the kids open their presents. It was as close to being there as possible . But like I said, I'll be home soon. I cant wait. I miss my dog :>D
