Old Homes On Long Island

I thought this would be the appropriate forum since these old homes are certainly "Great Works" by old world craftsman.

Thought this would be of interest so here are a few historic homes on Long Island

years range from the mid 1600's to the 1700's






Below is the oldest living Black Oak tree in North America. It's walking distance from two of those homes.



It survived the British occupation of Long Island. ( They practically cut down every tree)

Thats very neat gary, i love old homes and landmarks and to think most and all was done with hand saws.

I really like looking at some of the older homes whenever the family and I drive up east. Some are truly wonderful.

I love those old houses too. They don't get quite that old in my area. Makes me want to head on up to the east coast for a sight seeing tour. I really should do that one day.

The funny thing is live at the west end of Long Island, Staten Island. And I drive to the east end of Long Island at least twice a year and just love the drive. . . So do the kids.
